Dalmatian sitting on two paws, height approx. 13.5 cm, made of velvet, with original collar and breastplate (used from 1954), the dog has numerous features of a typical Steiff pre-war animal and originally came from the possession of a Steiff employee, the unusual piece was delivered directly to Giengen as part of our Steiff appraisals. According to our estimates, it is a rare prototype or a model that never went into series production. Particularly noteworthy is the beautiful original coloring; presumably an early airbrush technique was used on one half of the face as an experiment. Condition: Minimal missing part on one side, otherwise in very good condition.
