Outstanding, early 20th century Steiff Golliwog doll based on author Florence Kate Upton's fictional book characters. Doll is felt and linen, 40 cm, and fully jointed. Wearing a blue jacket, white vest, red pants, and oilcloth shoes with felt soles. With a black mohair inset wig, black button eyes backed in red and white felt, and a red and white felt mouth. Doll retains his long trailing "F" button in ear. With a few very small, scattered holes, missing a few jacket buttons, and light scuffs to shoes; otherwise in excellent, clean condition with minimal if any playwear. Steiff midcentury standing kangaroo with joey. Mother is 40 cm, standing, made from mohair, with jointed head and arms, felt lined ears, pupil eyes, and a black embroidered nose.
