Outstanding, early 20th century Steiff Golliwog doll based on author Florence Kate Upton's fictional book characters. Doll is felt and linen, 40 cm, and fully jointed. Wearing a blue jacket, white vest, red pants, and oilcloth shoes with felt soles. With a black mohair inset wig, black button eyes backed in red and white felt, and a red and white felt mouth. Doll retains his long trailing "F" button in ear. With a few very small, scattered holes, missing a few jacket buttons, and light scuffs to shoes; otherwise in excellent, clean condition with minimal if any playwear.
