Max & Moritz, pair of character dolls of the K&R series, No. 123 and 124, both aren't marked, c. 40 cm, bisque socket head, sleeping impish eyes mechanism with brown glass eyes, funny faces with closed mouth and strong modelled brows, originals jointed body, was only for this type of doll produced, with fix wrists, slightly stick-out forefinger and modelled shoes (black resp. brown) and socks, with new wigs on the head cover made of hemp in old style, the old original  hemp wigs that are caused of old age in worn condition are enclosed, the clothes are complete and probably original, because identical clothes were already found at other dolls , at Max (123) was a broken off porcelain part at the upper back of the head put in, it is under the wig not visible, minimal "Wigpull",this body was produced with a small hole in one shoe sole, probably for a better stand for exhibition or decoration, of this K&R / SIMON & HALBIG "pair of scallywags" that were manufactured based on the well-known children's book story by Wilhelm Busch  around 1912, are only a few marked and not marked dolls known, original only in this size, with the special jointed body, nice expression, nice modelled,
