mixed lot with rule and  cigarette extinguisher from the private property of Paul Steiff (1876-1954). Hewas the oldest nephew of Margarete Steiff, and was known for hismany written internal informations, he also makes many studies of Steiff animals in his sketchbooks. Paul Steiff was one of the managers of the company Steiff and was also known for marking all tools with his namethat he used in the in the drawing office, his private things were marked with his name too, the rule was marked by himself with "P. Steiff Gingen Brenz Kurze Str. 1" and was used by him for a  long time. the rule is made of wood, with traces of usage, is 50 cm long and is from the 1910s/'20s. the elephant ashtray is 4 cm tall , marked with "P.+M. Steiff Giengen Bz. Aschenlöscher Kunstharz 1935". therefore  it is from 1935 and in very good condition, the  rule and the ashtray are absolutely rare and collector's items.
