Pia`s Blog: ,,...the "Bébé Incisé" was a model of the era between 1880 and 1885 of the company Jumeau. It got its name from the incised marking (French inciser = to incise). Before Jumeau's dolls were given the famous red stamp, the size indications were carved directly into the fine porcelain. However, as this process was very time-consuming, it was only used in a relatively short production phase. This means that the dolls in the Incised series can be easily dated.
